Pre-purchase Survey

These surveys usually include an out of the water inspection of the boat’s bottom.  A sea trial is also recommended. Our reports include a fair-market valuation, a detailed description of the boat with photos, and recommendations for correction. Most survey reports will be in about three days. Rates are as follows:

Boats under 50 feet:            $27 per foot with a $550 minimum

Boats 50 and over:               Please call for pricing

Insurance or Financing Survey

These surveys do not usually require a haul-out.  Our reports still include a fair-market valuation, a detailed description of the boat with photos, and recommendations for correction. Most survey reports will also be available within three days. Rates are as follows:

Boats under 50 feet:            $25 per foot with a $500 minimum

Boats over 50 feet:               Please call for pricing

Cruising Consultation

Steve is happy to meet with you to inspect your boat and make suggestions for safety and equipment improvements. He is also available to help you evaluate boats prior to purchase. The cost will be dependent on the services that you require. For verbal consultations I usually charge $85 per hour.  Please call for more information.

Travel Fees

We do not charge travel fees for Bay Area boats located in San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Napa and Alameda Counties.  Trips to boats further away are charged at $.80 per mile.
